Hi all, just thought i would drop in and tell you all about the new PS3 game 'MAG'

It's fucking outstanding! Finally, this is what console war gamers have been looking for in their online shooting experience. 256 players per game! A true squad orientated, team-based, lead fest... get your headsets out for the lads!

Huge maps, multiple objectives, customisable characters etc. It's a totally online affair, no single player campaign to distract you, for heavens sake! You start by deciding which faction you're gonna choose... Raven, S.V.E.R. or Valor. Each faction has strengths and weaknesses.

After a brief 'get-used-to-the-controls' section it's out onto the battlfield in 'Suppression' training (64 players just practicing!) Once you've earned some experience you unlock the next tier of maps. 'Sabotage' comes next, 64 players fighting to control 2 primary and 1 secondary objective... then its 'Aquisition' 128 players using vehicles and air support, then the pure madness of war appears in 'Domination', catering for 256 players battling to hold on to 8 objectives... then it's... well, I will leave the rest so you can find out for yourselves.

If you like Call of Duty, then I suggest you mothball your copy and get this game now, you won't look back. It's got me hooked big time.

See you on the battlefield.

Good on you Virtuous!

Seriously... I enjoyed Call of Duty Modern Warfare, but it left me feeling cold because of the tiny maps and small number of players. I opted to play Killzone 2 instead (brilliant game btw), bigger maps etc. etc. I made up my mind not to follow the crowd and get COD;MW2 and stuck it out with Killzone 2, i toyed with the idea of getting Operation Flashpoint... but hung on when i saw previews of MAG. There's hardly been any hype surrounding the game, it's seems to have covertly slotted itself onto the shelves with little or no fanfare. There is a hardcore playing the game now just waiting for the rest of the gaming world to catch up.

Honestly guys, anyone reading this... get a copy now! You will fall in love with it.

I've been a HUGE Modern Warfare2 fan for some time now, but its becoming more and more buggy with far too many cheats & glitchers for my liking! I watched my son playing Killzone 2 earlier and thought it was amazing! My problem occurs when constantly switching from one FPS to another. When switching from Resistance 2 to ModernWarfare 2, I found I kept blowing myself up with grenades, because 'crouch' was the 'grenade' setting and vice versa! :P

To begin with I was little concerned about lag with MAG due to the massive server slots. But from what I've seen from the demo so far, there isn't really an issue here...

I haven't had any lag, nor have i seen anyone else lagging... 256 players and it runs as sweet as!

The only issue i have is that they maintain the servers every day between 9am and 11-12am. But i'm in work 6 days a week so i tend to miss that! lol

As for your problem with switching games, you're not alone. I flit between GTA4, Killzone2, MAG and Call of Duty... and yes... there has been 'accidents' in the button press department. ahem... i intended to sprint and just ended up crouching, tried to throw a granade and all i achived was switching to a knife!

To be fair, MAG is probably the easiest to get into control-wise. L1 is aim, R1 is fire, L2 and R2 are weapon cycles. Triangle sets your stance, Circle sets bipod (if attached) X is jump... R3 is knife, L3 is sprint. Easy!
